Each year since 2021, Menslink has adventured with 30 CEO’s, business and community leaders along the Centenary Trail to raise much needed fund to support young guys in Canberra. Each day the group covers 20-30km’s of the trail and completes the full route in 5 days.
Across 2 walks the total fundraised by the team is over $692,000 provided critical funds to support the youth mentoring, counselling and school and workplace-based talks and programs.
Now in its third year – the 2023 event comes at a time for Menslink in which it has never been more expensive to deliver services and we are experiencing our highest-ever demand. Thank you for your support of our walkers and through them the families and young men that Menslink helps every day.
Journeying across our nation’s capital, this 5 day adventure is one of those unforgettable, epic adventures that will stay with our Walkers for life. At 142km, this trail is longer than the Kokoda track (96km) and further than the distance to Everest base Camp (130km) and promises to give everyone a new perspective on our home town of Canberra as we walk beside a hand picked group of Canberra’s great movers and shakers.
Starting at Parliament House on the morning of Tuesday 7 November 2023, walking up to 30km per day along the Canberra Centenary Trail. On the final day the walk will loop around Lake Burley Griffin, up to 25kms to the finish line near Nara Gardens.
The challenge on the walk is not just the distance – we are asking walkers to commit to raising $10,000 each. Your contribution will go directly to Menslink to support our programs that support young men and their families in the Canberra community through our volunteer mentoring, counselling, school and workplace programs. Each year it costs over $1800 to support one young guy through counselling, mentoring and school programs. Every dollar we raise is an important part of funding that effort. Our programs help improve mental fitness, combat domestic violence, reduce youth suicide, increase respect and positive behaviours and help create stronger communities.
All private donations over $2 are fully tax-deductible, as Menslink is an endorsed charitable institution by the Australian Tax Office and a registered ACNC Charity. Menslink’s ABN is 520 4909 8548. You will receive a tax invoice on email after your donation is confirmed.
