Walking with purpose
Each year since 2021, Menslink has adventured with 30 CEOs, and business and community leaders along the Centenary Trail to raise much-needed funds to support young guys in Canberra. Each day the group covers 20-35kms of the trail and completes the full route in 5 days.
The challenge on the walk is not just the distance – we ask walkers to commit to raising $10,000 each. This contribution goes directly to Menslink to fund our programs that support young men and their families in the Canberra community. Every dollar we raise is an important part of making our work possible. Our programs help improve mental fitness, combat domestic violence, reduce youth suicide, increase respect and positive behaviours and help create stronger communities.
Across the three Walks over $1 million has been raised, providing critical funds to support the youth mentoring, counselling and school-based programs.
Journeying across our nation’s capital, this 5-day adventure will be another unforgettable, epic adventure that will stay with our Walkers for life. At 142km, this trail is longer than the Kokoda track (96km) and further than the distance to Everest Base Camp (130km) and promises to give everyone a new perspective on our hometown of Canberra as we walk beside a hand-picked group of Canberra’s great movers and shakers.
The walk will start at Parliament House in the morning, and conclude around lunch time either at Parliament House or somewhere nearby.
If you’re a CEO, business or community leader in Canberra, and you’re interested in walking, please reach out to our CEO Ben Gathercole for a chat.
