Raised in the NSW town of Tumut, a teaching scholarship awarded in 1979 saw Michael complete tertiary studies at ANU and the University of Canberra. A successful public school principal backed by a 30 year career in ACT education, joining the Menslink Board is an opportunity to continue his effort to contribute to and foster opportunities for young Canberrans.
Michael joins Menslink as a member of the Institute of Company Directors and current director of the Australian Secondary Principals Association. In recent years he has been President of the ACT Principals Association and has a strong focus on global education leading the International Baccalaureate program at Melba Copland Secondary School.
Married to Louise with five children in their 20’s who are fortunate to be building their own careers, Michael works at maintaining a balance of professional work and personal well-being. He enjoys many sports, coast life and the snow, making Canberra a home with access to everything.
