Michael Aichholzer


Michael Aichholzer joined Menslink as a volunteer mentor in September 2012 and joined the Silence is Deadly team as a volunteer presenter in 2014. Recently retired from full-time work, Michael joined Menslink as the Education Program Coordinator in July 2016 to continue delivering the Silence is Deadly program in the ACT’s High Schools and Colleges, and to develop a new program aimed at assisting young guys develop positive relationships and connectedness with others.
Michael comes to Menslink from a long career with the Australian Defence Organisation spanning nearly 40 years, including over 35 years in the Royal Australian Navy. His career saw him serve in varied positions in Australia and overseas, including war service in Iraq. Through this experience, Michael has developed a strong interest in men’s mental health, masculinity and gender issues in general.
Michael and his partner Catherine have been together for 23 years and are life companions to Spud and Nero, both rescue dogs. Michael and Catherine are father and step-mother to one adult daughter.
