Des Linehan

Des Linehan joined Menslink initially as a volunteer mentor in June 2014 and then came on board in April 2015 to coordinate the Silence is Deadly program in the ACT’s High Schools and Colleges. Des’ current role is Operations Manager (acting), managing and working within both the Bro’Gram (Mentoring) and Education teams.

Des’ background is quite varied but very people-oriented, Des was a primary school teacher for almost ten years, he then worked in and ran Recruitment Agencies for over twenty years, both here in Canberra and in Perth.

Des is married 40 years to Kathy and has three children: one boy and two girls – all grown up now – the baby is now 34! No grandkids (yet). The empty nest gives Des more time to apply his energies to other pursuits.

Des has a long history of getting involved and giving back, having been a board member of the ACT Chamber of Commerce for three years and other boards/committees over the years. Des is a very proud but recently disappointed Carlton supporter with a strong optimism gene keeping that belief alive.

Des is a huge advocate of Menslink and is greatly enjoying and committed to the delivery of this much needed and extremely effective and engaging service to young men in the ACT.
